Favorite Camping Gadgets
1) Hands-free Walkie-Talkies - This is a game changer. We just tested some voice-activated headset connected hands-free walkie talkies in 7/23. I ride Sam and Jon walks or rides his mountain bike. We stayed in contact just by talking with no need to press a button. Jon could hear Sam's hooves as we galloped! I felt so comfortable riding on my own and talking to Jon back at camp the whole ride.
2) A Tent! Seriously. Setting up a zero-G chair in a tent was so much more comfortable and warmer than sleeping in a trailer gooseneck! This was mind-blowing. I prefer taller tents that are easier to get in and out of. 3) Timber ridge XXL Oversized Zero Gravity Chair - I sleep in this, ultra comfy if you get a pad that fits it as well, great for sore lower backs. 4) LED running armbands - these are truly awesome! I attached one band to Sam's fly sheet and I could see my black horse glow green from my tent. We also used them on my dog's collars so they can play at night and we can still keep track of them. 5) ID bracelet for horse cannon bone - Sam wears a Velcro attached bracelet around his cannon bones with my phone number on it in bright pink. We ordered this from Equistrisafe https://equestrisafe.com/product/fetlock-id-band/ 6) Muck bucket and folding wheelbarrow - When camping in forest service areas you need to dispose of your manure in the garbage bins in a plastic bag. I line a muck bucket with a plastic bag, clean daily and then wheel the bucket to the garbage bin to clean up. 7) Sleeping Headphones - softer to fall asleep in and made for side sleepers 8) Reading light - Just got for Jon, will need to test during our next trip 9) Electric Blanket!! Wow, this is a game-changer. I was so warm. I plugged this blanket into a Ryobi lawn-mower battery and inverter and it lasted all night. 10) Electric portable heating Pad This is great to wear on cold mornings or when riding. We all have a sore back or hip that feels better when warm. 11) Roybi Power Station This is a recent purchase. I am so excited to try it out. I need enough juice for 2 cpaps and at least 2 electric blankets for 2 nights. |
